Transcendence media performance teaser, 2019
Video from a live performance | 2 min
An interdisciplinary project, researching the power of live performance and interactive technology to induce altered states of consciousness. A multi-sensory media performance, inducing altered states through a combination of shamanistic ritual practice and experimental technologies. Transcendence takes its audience on a journey through mind and spirit, altering perception through interactive lights and visuals, 3D sound design, dance, live vocals, character design, scents and cacao. It draws inspiration from the far edges of human consciousness, the latest scientific research and ancient spiritual practices.

Metaverse Divinations Documentary, 2022
Video and interviews | 6 min
This documentary takes you through the research behind Metaverse Divinations AR performances. Supported by Arts Council England, filmed by Elephant Room Films.
A series of augmented reality ritual performances that translated our performances into augmented reality (AR) experiences developing new software tools and working with scientists and therapists. Using ritual design as a framework, these series of ritual performances promote embodiment, interconnectedness and connection to the self. The characters are representing light and shadow archetypes, exploring the collective unconscious and dream-like states. The AR real-time visuals represent natural elements and respond to the performer’s movement and the colours in the scene.
We created an open source and low-cost 360 recording and tracking system that digitises a live performance scene in real-time. The digitised scene allows us to integrate virtual elements and effects within the video, opening new possibilities for mixed reality real-time public interaction. We wove together interconnected realities to offer innovative ways of telling our story and experiencing performances.
