Reimagining Antonio Canova's sculpture "Psyche revived by Cupid's kiss", 2019
Video, 27 seconds
The project is aimed at researching ways of raising interest in gallery exhibitions as well as making the content more accessible to a broader audience. I will consider new types of exhibitions such as interactive and immersive, and research the meaning and importance of immersive ones. Having selected a traditional piece of art I will look into ways of presenting it using modern technology such as projection mapping. I will develop a specific optimised pipeline for character animation which will work better for this specific field of 3D art for museums. Afterwards, I will recreate the piece in 3D and animate it coming to life, which will both present a modern way of appreciating art and will also add value to the piece, by finishing the "suspended moment" and explaining more of the idea behind the piece.
