Visual Sound Art
KIMA: Colour, are three original 360 visual sound works that are based on Analema Group’s artist residency at National Gallery X. National Gallery X is an ‘infinite studio’, exploring how emerging technologies can help create tomorrow’s museum experience today. KIMA: Colour is a virtual exploration of some of the National Gallery’s great masterpieces online. Audiences are able to feel, hear and sense classic paintings and rediscover colour online.
KIMA: Colour in 360 combines a binaural sound experience with a spatial 360 video experience, to be explored interactively by the audience. Inspired by Jan Van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, Monet’s ‘Water Lilies, Setting Sun’ and Van Gogh’s ‘Wheatfield with Cypresses’, you are invited to explore colour palettes and composition as a multi-dimensional 3D sound and video experience using youtube’s app, on youtube. As a 360 video experience, audiences can navigate a selection of paintings, augmenting their understanding of colour palette in these classic masterpieces. The artworks now form part of the p_ART_icipate project, on the effect of participatory art on social connectedness with The National Gallery and RNIB Northern Ireland as partners.

We create experiences on the intersection between art and technology. Our mission is to reflect on the nature of perception, exploring the relationships between sound, colour, light, movement and form. Our participatory art fills the gap between performers and audiences, enabling them to question their senses and the boundaries of perception. |
