FLUX Events: Current Trends in the Contemporary Media Arts

A panel discussion by FLUX Events will provide an overview of the past, present and future of media art networks in the UK - chaired by Guy Armitage of Zealous
FLUX Events in collaboration with Guy Armitage (CEO Zealous) propose a panel discussion for the 2018 EVA conference. Armitage has been a spearhead for promoting the importance of creativity in the UK economy and has advocated the creation of a new category for the media artists within this promoting their importance to the masses.
Following this introduction, each of the three FLUX hosts; Maria Almena, Oliver Gingrich and Aphra Shemza will provide an overview about their organization FLUX Events, and why it is so necessary to build networks today. The discussion will reflect strategies and collective themes within the media arts, such as light, transcendence, spirituality, nature, technology, biology and many more. FLUX Events will present the wide ranging array of artists that the organization has worked with and include examples of events and exhibitions that they have held within the last year.
Following this introduction, the panel discussion shall begin with Guy Armitage chairing the conversation between the speakers. The panel will provide an insight into the underground world of contemporary media artists, why it is so important and open the discussion up about collective themes emerging in the art scene. The panel will invite the audience to ask questions and voice their views on the future of media art networks in the UK.
