Speakers:
K ANTHONY & ELIZABETH SANDFORD RICHARDSON, TERRY TRICKETT & LAURA PLANA: ARTFUTURA
Our FLUX: Social events are a new type of event for 2019. These events are primarily for networking and making connections within the creative media arts community. Hosted by our FLUX co-founders Maria Almena, Oliver Gingrich and Aphra Shemza, they will provide a relaxed space for the facilitation of networking and collaboration. In our intimate setting at the Library London, the audience will get the opportunity to meet key artists within the media art scene in London face to face and to discuss ideas, practices and preeminent concepts in today’s Media Arts.
Each event, artists meet and discuss their work with the audience. We invite all artists and creative practitioners working with art and technology who want to present to email us on [email protected]. Our aim is to encourage discourse and create a space for communication and the exchange of ideas, providing some much needed critical discussion and technical advice for artists working in the field of the media arts. Come and join us to explore unchartered territories within the media arts and meet fellow practitioners.

K Anthony has been inspired by the arts since childhood, initially through acting. However, It wasn't until 1997 through photography that he found a means of expressing his view of the world, in all its splendour, beauty, oddities and contradictions. Whether it is a simple portrait photograph to capture the beauty of a subject, or a distant skyline delivering a mirage to fool the eye,
K Anthony's passion is fine art photography. Creating and capturing the beauty of life, living and being. His works vary considerably, apparently a reflection of his many mind states!
About Terry Trickett
Performing Citrama
Citirama is an experimental performance where the patterns of architecture join the rhythms of music in mutual celebration. The inspiration for creating this piece of Visual Music was one particular building in the City of London - the Leadenhall Bulding, colloquially known as ‘the cheesegrater’. I found there a series of visual ‘leitmotifs’. (I’m making use of the musical connotations of this term quite deliberately.) Sometimes these are small details and at other times they are whole elevations or complete spaces. But always they serve to capture a design language that produces architecture of exceptional quality.
The visual and aural elements of my performance have equal importance. My realisation of the first movement introduces a set of repeat patterns, all derived from my leitmotifs. Each pattern is continually changing and evolving. And its in this form that I project my patterns on to the slanting façade of the ‘cheesegrater’. In the second movement, I create a series of reverse explosions; fragmented components of my leitmotifs gradually come together or spin apart to reveal the architectural elements from which they’re derived. In the last movement, I confound the eye with a series of quick-change collages. I see Citirama as an experimental performance which has begun to reveal a new type of relationship between music and architecture – no longer frozen but, instead, constantly moving and inventive.
Working previously as an architect and designer, Terry Trickett has now become a digital artist performing Visual Music worldwide at new media festivals and conferences. Sometimes the inspiration for his pieces is primarily musical; at other times, he uses Visual Music as a means of tackling a difficult subject or putting forward a controversial point of view. Always his aim is to share and communicate an idea through a process that combines animated visual imagery with musical performance, usually on solo clarinet. As a participatory form of communication, he finds that Visual Music is effective because it succeeds in engaging with audiences at both an intellectual and emotional level.”
