In July we had our first FLUX event. A group of media artists met in the basement of Lights of Soho to discuss what they felt was needed in an organisation. How could we help nurture the creativity and exchange of ideas and concepts between artists first and foremost and in the future how could we bring these ideas to a wider audience?
We decided to incorporate all the media arts and embrace notions of performance, interactivity, dialogue and exchange. Creating a platform for artists to speak about their work in a peer led environment was how we decided to proceed with our events, with hopes in the future to produce public talks, exhibitions and performances.
What was crucial was that our organisation was able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the artists working right NOW in London and the organisation was to remain in a dynamic state of change, FLUX.
